Say the Obvious One More Time!

I don’t like to state the obvious
it’s too asinine,
a waste of breath, space and time.

And one would think it’s obvious
that reciprocity is a necessary ill to catch.
Unrequited emotions are
a waste of breath, space and time.

And you waste my time
stating facts after fact when fact is
we lost our love from way back.
Why fight for freedom when you really mean only free to love you,
how free is free if my passport ain’t accepted in any other country?

And it’s a waste of breath, space and time,
to repeat myself time and time again.

I don’t like that you think that
repetition is the mother of all learning,
yes it’s widely accepted as such,
but shouldn’t experience be the footstool upon which we build?

And I waste my life,
living other persons dream,
focusing on you instead of me,
loving for two,
loving in pain and hate and shame,
loving again and again

a waste of breath, space and time

realizing in the midst of your strokes
that love regardless of you is free,
unchained, happy, unashamed
